Sarah Finnigan is a Texas-based artist who found her way to art in a circuitous manner. Feverishly pursuing music from a young age, she attended college for tuba performance but found herself distracted from practice when she fell in love with art. Her inspiration is built on a youth spent getting lost in adventure games, exploring in the woods, and being captivated by astronomy and the night sky.
Sarah's work is achieved through a glazing technique to create luminous acrylic paintings. Her work has been published in Magic: The Gathering, Infected By Art, ImagineFX and others, and has exhibited by Society of Illustrators West, Haven Gallery, Every Day Original, the A.R. Mitchell Museum, and more.

“Places have long held particular importance to me. The shaping forces on an environment and the evidence people leave behind are intriguing and magnetic. We are so affected by the spaces we explore. I paint landscapes that carry those fingerprints, in luminous transparent layers of acrylics on wood, to tell a story of what those places mean to us. I seek to draw the viewer in as a solitary explorer.
Wide horizons, towering clouds, and vast starry skies inspire a sense of reverence, awe, and wonder, as well as a sense of smallness and insignificance that leaves me feeling great appreciation and intimidation at experiencing this astonishing world. I strive to bring that through my paintings to others.”
