Constructs of Conviction
There are some commitments we make in life that require absolute conviction, to proceed with an abundance of trust and hope in defiance of the risks. Most people only engage in this kind of commitment when it is culturally normalized, such as with marriage or having children, and with nothing else, and it is no wonder. Committing whole-heartedly is not unlike a game of Jenga. Where you may have previously laid your bricks wide to cover as much ground as possible, you begin to build narrowly up toward a specific goal. Each brick is laid upon others that, if things don't work out, may get ripped out from underneath and cause devastation in all areas of our life. But in the best of circumstances, new heights can be reached.⠀
